Correspondence with Franz Werfel, 1943.

Burnett's letter expresses his disappointment at having been informed that Werfel's story "The Crooked Cross" (Die wahre Geschichte vom wiederhergestellten Kreuz) was unavailable for inclusion in an anthology he was editing. According to Werfel's letter to Huebsch, that story was already appearing in a work by Simon & Schuster, but Werfel was considering offering Burnett another story in its place.
